The Memorial Tournament returns May 29–June 1, 2025, at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio. This is the seventh Signature Event of the season and features a $20 million purse. The tournament draws a top field just two weeks before the U.S. Open at Oakmont.
The field includes 72 of the best players in the world. Tiger Woods has won this event five times, and Jack Nicklaus continues to host it at the course he designed. Scottie Scheffler is the defending champion and will look to win for the second year in a row. For more betting tools and to become a PPH bookie, check out WagerHome.
This course has changed over the years. It now plays as a 7,571-yard par 72. It features tight Bentgrass greens, thick rough, and tough par 3s. The four par 5s are the only holes that usually give players scoring chances. Winning scores have been between -7 and -13 in recent years.
In 2024, Scheffler won with a score of -8. Weather conditions often impact scoring here, but precision on approach shots and strong scrambling are always key. Players with good long iron play and par-5 scoring should have an edge this week.
SCHEFFLER Preview – Heavy Favorite in Great Form
Scottie Scheffler enters as the top favorite at +300. He has six straight top-eight finishes and two wins in that stretch. Last year, he held off Collin Morikawa to win this event at -8. He also leads the PGA Tour in strokes gained tee-to-green.
Scheffler ranks near the top in every key metric: approach, off-the-tee, par-5 scoring, and long iron proximity. With McIlroy not in the field, he should have a strong chance to win again. He’s also one of only a few players to avoid missing the cut at Muirfield Village in the past five years.
He is the safest pick on the board and should be in the mix heading into Sunday. The course fits his strengths, and his past results here show he’s very comfortable at Muirfield Village.
SCHAUFFELE Preview – Ready to Break Through
Xander Schauffele enters with good form and has made 58 straight cuts. He has six straight top-25 finishes at the Memorial and was T8 here last year. His long game fits this course well, and he’s in better form now than in past years.
Schauffele ranks in the top five in driving distance over the last 20 rounds. He is also strong in strokes gained on approach and scrambling around fast greens. That mix makes him one of the few who can challenge Scheffler down the stretch.
He hasn’t won at Muirfield before, but his consistency shows he can contend. If he takes advantage of the par 5s and avoids mistakes on the tough par 3s, he should be in position to grab a top-five finish or better.
OTHER CONTENDERS Preview – Names to Watch
Justin Thomas is a top value pick at +1800. He’s second in the field in total strokes gained over the last six months. He also won earlier this year at RBC Heritage and ranks high in approach and par-5 scoring.
Corey Conners is another strong pick at +3300. He ranks 11th in driving accuracy and 9th in greens in regulation. He also ranks 5th in scrambling from the rough and has seven top-20 finishes in his last eight starts.
Keegan Bradley (+5500) is fifth in the field in strokes gained tee-to-green. His putting has held him back, but he finished T8 at the PGA Championship. If the putter cooperates, he could finish inside the top 10 here.
PPH Betting Prediction
Scottie Scheffler is the clear favorite at +300. He is the best all-around player and has a strong history at this event. But with low odds, some bettors may look for more value elsewhere. That’s where Justin Thomas and Corey Conners come in.
Thomas has elite approach numbers and past wins on similar courses. Conners fits the course well and is accurate off the tee. Scheffler should win, but Thomas at +1800 offers solid value. Learn more about how to set your own lines and be a bookie at WagerHome.
